The Laws, the Lessons, & How to Avoid Getting Sued
This 3-day program is focused on educating HR professionals, small business owners, and leaders on the “alphabet soup” of employment laws. The laws covered are: Title VII of the CRA, the FMLA, ADA, ADAAA, FLSA, NLRA, IRCA, and several others, in order to create awareness of compliance obligations–and to learn why having effective company policies is critical to minimizing the risk of EEOC charges, DOL investigations, and employment litigation.
The second half of the program provides best practices in HR management, and attendees will learn about the “talent life cycle” from hiring–to firing–and the people processes that should be in place to drive good business performance. Specifically, attendees will learn contemporary strategies for hiring the right employees, how to hold onto them, and the necessary strategies to have in place to deal with poor performing employees.
Throughout the program, attendees will engage in interactive discussion, exercises, and will be challenged to answer “what if” questions to improve skill level in handling HR issues.
